The Supporters of X-Men Soccer Society, known affectionately as the Supporters Club, came to life in the fall of 2008 and was legally incorporated in March of 2009. Originating with a group of former X-Men players and loyal team supporters, the Supporters Club has two primary objectives: to financially support the current X-Men soccer program and to reconnect former players and supporters.
The Fall of 2008 also saw the retirement of Lou Bilek as head coach of the X-Men after 39 years of loyal service. In his honour, the Lou Bilek Soccer Award has been created to provide an annual monetary award for an incoming X-Men Soccer player. The first award was given to Andrew MacDonald in 2009. Part of the Supporters Club's mandate will be to generate funds for this award.
The Supporters Club endeavours to provide the X-Men with assistance in raising the funds required for recruiting, funding scholarships, team travel, player development, and to help cover the many other costs associated with running a program that aims to be one of the best in the nation.
